Dick Muther Released his 17th Book - the Complete, the Definitive "Planning by Design"
For the morning session of the 2012 workshop, Hakan Bütüner provided a comprehensive walk-through of the new book, chapter by chapter, devoting a significant portion of his presentation to reviewing and explaining the many diagrams and worksheets. Dick fielded questions and fostered discussions during the afternoon session, providing real-world examples, worksheets and relevant planning exercises to "tool up our brains."

Meet New Member Martin Nazareth of OpEx Solutions, Inc.
Martin, invited to the workshop by Jaime Hernandez, is a global consultant in operational excellence involving the strategic application of lean manufacturing (Lean), total productive maintenance (TPM), quality, and industrial engineering (IE). He has led strategic consulting, training and execution at over 100 plants in the USA, Canada, Australia, India, Latin America and Europe. Matt McClymonds Joins his Parents as an IHPP Member
Matt explains his interest in IHPP and planning: “Most of my job experiences required Strategic Planning and successful project implementations. I came to learn that when you plan the work then work the plan success occurred much more often than the typical environment of ready, fire, aim. The methodology that IHPP provides can enhance situational awareness and provide sound alternatives to

Gerald Nadler Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from the University of Southern California
USC Professor Emeritus of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Gerald Nadler was awarded the USC Faculty Lifetime Achievement award on April 26 at the University's 29th Annual Academic Honors Convocation held at Town and Gown. The USC Faculty Lifetime Achievement Award is granted each year to a small number of particularly eminent, outstanding retired faculty members on the basis of "their notable contributions to the university, their profession and community." IHPP welcomed five new members at our spring workshop.
Certified Language Therapist
Sandy is the daughter of Craig Rowley. She is a long-time enthusiast and advocate of our Multiple Careers Planning. Sandy is a Certified Academic Language Therapist and hopes to tie Multiple Careers Planning into Texas schools, starting with private schools, home schooling groups and banks.
Crissy is the daughter of IHPP Chairman Larry Goodson, and a newly selected member of the IHPP Board of Directors. Crissy attended Duke University and received an M.A. in English literature at Washington University in St. Louis. She has served as an English teacher, and as an advertising copywriter for several companies. For the last 10 years, she has focused on Web site planning, design and implementation. She currently runs her own company, E-lluminated Marketing.
John A. Hickman II
My Grid Technologies
John has a Master's Degree in Accountancy, is a community volunteer leader and a passionate planner. Of particular interest to him is how to utilize Planning by Design to improved planning for all subject areas.
Although John specializes in commercial real estate, he is an entrepreneur with a broad range of interests, including electronics and computer technologies. John is the son of the late Craig Rowley, a long time IHPP member and one of the original members.
Francois W. Sauer
Trans Am Group, LTD
Francois is a doctor of medicine, and has an M.S. degree in both Systems Analysis and a Masters of Business Administration. He serves as an advisor and consultant to many businesses His particular planning interests include systematic thinking, business dynamics and planning by Design.
