After graduating from Grove City College in Pennsylvania, Matt joined the Marine Corps as a
commissioned officer. The last duty station served was Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, AZ
where he fulfilled the roll of Communications, Data, and Electronics Officer.
a position as Chief Information Officer for Yuma County in 2001, and, over the next few years,
also supported the University of Phoenix as adjunct faculty, primarily in the College of
Information Systems and Technology. After a short stint at Cox Communications he started
Layer8, LLC, a storage and networking value added reseller. In 2007, Matt accepted a job
with World Wide Technology, Inc., a Cisco and HP integrator, and continues to work for them
Matt explains his interest in IHPP and planning:
“Most of my job experiences required Strategic Planning and successful project
implementations. I came to learn that when you plan the work then work the plan success
occurred much more often than the typical environment of ready, fire, aim. The methodology
that IHPP provides can enhance situational awareness and provide sound alternatives to
ensure plans are less likely to get derailed since considerations are already documented.
