Biography: Larry Goodson
As a Senior Vice President with APQC Consulting Group, Larry has primary responsibility for the firm's Lean Operations and Strategic Planning practices and serves as Vice-Chairman of the Board. He has over 30 years of extensive hands-on experience in a variety of organizations and industries, combining his diverse business expertise with extensive product and world-class process knowledge.
He started his career with the Boeing Company and held engineering positions with Learjet and Bell Helicopter Corporation. He transitioned into commercial manufacturing with Allis Chalmers Corporation where he completed the Advanced Management Program. He has also held management positions with Siemens Allis, Whitin Roberts, Allied Signal Corp. and Cooper Industries, serving in operations, logistics, manufacturing engineering, maintenance and information technology.
For the past ten years, Larry has managed a variety of "High Performance Teams" in the Public Works arena in the "Fastest Growing City in the US." As leader and facilitator of productivity and process improvement teams he feels it is vital "to motivate and utilize internal organization expertise and knowledge to address and resolve business issues."
Prior to joining APQC-CG, Larry was Managing Partner of the LDGA Consulting Group which he founded in 1992 in St Louis, MO. LDGA provides Lean Operations and Strategic Planning services to a worldwide client base, serving domestic clients as well as firms in Europe, South America and the Pacific Rim.
Larry has been a member of the Institute For High Performance Planners since 1992. He is also a former International Board Member and Chairman of the Board of the Strategic Leadership Forum. Larry also has the distinction of being both a client and later a consulting associate of Richard Muther and Associates.
